The Security Officer D License Course is a state-approved, 40-hour training program designed to prepare individuals for careers in unarmed security. Offered by Florida Security Licensing & Firearms Defensive Training in Southeast Florida and Florida Security License & Defensive Training in Central Florida, our program stands out for its comprehensive curriculum, expert instruction, and state-of-the-art training facilities.

To become a licensed Class “D” Security Officer in Florida, applicants must:
✔ Be at least 18 years old
✔ Be a U.S. citizen, legal resident, or authorized to work in the U.S.
✔ Pass a criminal background check
✔ Have no felony convictions or crimes involving moral turpitude
✔ Complete 40 hours of state-approved security officer training
✔ Submit an application to the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services
✔ Pay the licensing fee of $97.75, which includes background checks, fingerprinting, and ID processing
