Carlos Fojo
Lead Instructor — Florida Security License & Defensive Training
Florida Instructor Licenses: DI 1900158, K1900126
Carlos Fojo is the lead instructor for Florida Security License & Defensive Training and brings more than 35 years of law enforcement and real‑world security experience to every course he teaches. He holds multiple licenses issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Licensing, including Class D, Class G, Class K (Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor), Class M, Class C, and the DI Instructor License.
Carlos is also a certified NRA Instructor qualified to teach:
• Concealed Carry
• Pistol
• Rifle
• Shotgun
• Personal Protection Inside the Home
• Personal Protection Outside the Home
• Refuse to Be a Victim
• Range Safety Officer
• Chief Range Safety Officer
He is additionally a Glock Certified Armorer.
During his 35‑year law enforcement career with the City of Hialeah Gardens Police Department, Carlos served as:
• Patrolman
• Investigator

• Lieutenant overseeing Patrol & General Investigations
• Motorman
• Community Policing Officer
• SWAT Operator
• SWAT Team Commander
After retiring in 2017, Carlos continued serving the law enforcement community by teaching advanced firearms skills, including moving and shooting, tactical training, and remedial firearms instruction. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida International University and maintains numerous law enforcement certifications.
In addition to his law enforcement background, Carlos owned and operated multiple businesses, including Access Control and Burglar & Fire Alarm services, where he served as the principal qualifier for 21 years. Since 2019, he has dedicated himself to training security officers in Class D and Class G licensing, executive protection, and annual requalification.
Carlos’s extensive real‑world experience shapes the institute’s training philosophy, ensuring every student receives practical, hands‑on instruction that prepares them for today’s security challenges.
Eva Fojo

Florida Class D & Class G Licensed
Eva Fojo is an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and a highly experienced security professional with more than two decades of hands‑on experience in security operations and firearms safety. She holds multiple licenses issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Licensing, including Class D and Class G.
Eva is certified by the NRA to teach:
• Concealed Carry (CCW)
• Pistol
• Range Safety Officer
Since 1996, Eva has been actively involved in security operations, both managing and working in the field. Her primary instructional focus includes CCW training, pistol safety, and foundational firearms handling. She is known for her clear, patient teaching style and her commitment to ensuring every student feels confident and safe.
Eva also serves as the Administrator for both Florida Security Licensing & Firearms Defensive Training, Inc. and Florida Security License & Defensive Training, Inc. Her leadership, organization, and dedication make her an essential part of the company’s success — truly the backbone of the business.
